Clear Aligner Treatment – A Multidimensional Reveal of a Problem and Some Solutions
We will be presenting our joint research – but not just 4 of the papers we currently have published together - 2 previously and 2 in 2023 accepted and awaiting publication - but also some new papers which will be completed and accepted by then, regarding aligner treatment in the vertical dimension and some side-effects of particular concern.
Biography
Dr Haylea Blundell completed her Bachelor and Masters of Dentistry at La Trobe University (Bendigo) in 2014 and completed her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Orthodontics) in 2020. Upon Completing her specialist training, Haylea moved back to her home town in regional Victoria and set up her own private orthodontic practice, Bendigo Orthodontic Specialists. Dr Haylea also has obtained her membership with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Orthodontics and is AOB certified.
Haylea has published three articles in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics on clear aligners and the vertical dimension and contributed to a chapter in a recently published clear aligner textbook “Orthodontic Aligner Treatment: A Review of Materials, Clinical Management and Evidence”. Her research has received worldwide attention, winning an award at the International Orthodontic Congress in Japan (2020) and The Elsdon Storey award for the most meritorious research paper through the Australian Society of Orthodontists (2021). Haylea has also presented her research at conferences within Australia, as well as the American Association of Orthodontists Congress in 2021 and the European Orthodontic Society in Norway in 2023.
Dr Haylea is also an associate professor at La Trobe University in Bendigo, as a discipline lead in orthodontics for both dental and oral health students
